Daily Timetable
Reading Programme
The Gawura School reading programme runs every day from 8am, Students are asked to read for 10 to 15 minutes with a volunteer when they arrive at school, before they go to roof for play. The programme is on every day for the week from 8am to 8.30am in the Gawura School Open Area on Level 7. The Gawura School reading programme is run with the support of volunteers from local companies and St Andrew’s Cathedral School parents who give up their time to help our students with their literacy. Gawura School’s reading programme is one of the reasons for our students’ strong academic results, especially in writing and comprehension.

Homework Club Years 3-6
Homework Club for our Year 3-6 students can be booked via Clipboard through the Parent Portal. Although there is an $190 cost per semester, our Gawura School students and their families are able to receive this for free. Instructions for using Clipboard and booking Junior School and Gawura School co-curricular activities, including Homework Club, can be found here.
Homework Club operates two days per week. Bookings are made during a period of five days, towards the end of the previous term, and parents are emailed to advise when bookings open and close. We ask that you book early to ensure your child’s place in the group. If you need assistance in completing the booking form, please email: jscocurricular@sacs.nsw.edu.au
Lunch (canteen/emergency lunches)
If your child has no lunch on a certain day, we can arrange an Emergency Lunch for your child. It is usually sandwiches with some pieces of fruit. Please notify your child’s teacher or the Head of Gawura School who will arrange this for you.

DEAR Time
From 8am to 8.10am every morning is Drop Everything and Read Time. All students who arrive at 8am must read silently for 10 minutes.
